WET Design was featured in an exhibition entitled "Fountains: Splash and Spectacle" at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. The exhibit addressed the design, function, and history of water in public places from the Renaissance to the present. The exhibition ran June 9 through October 11, 1998. On display were original design concept drawings by Claire Kahn and Jim Garland, as well as photographs by Ira Kahn of existing WET water features. The Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum is part of the Smithsonian Institution and is the only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. The museum's mission is the promotion of greater awareness of the designed environment. |
