In 1995, WET Design was engaged by the owner to replace the
existing theatrical presentation of a nighttime volcanic eruption in
front of the Mirage Hotel and Casino with an enhanced and more
dramatic show. Cataclysm was created by incorporating water,
fire and lighting elements, programmed to build to an exciting
eruption finale. WET Design's commission resulted in a portrayal
of the activities of an authentic volcano. Large bursts of fire, dense
mists and illuminated water combine to create a theatrical and
dramatic performance for visitors to Las Vegas and the Mirage Resort.
