MARK FULLER
CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF
EXECUTIVE OFFICER |
Commissioned by Steve Wynn to create the Fountains of Bellagio, Mark Fuller is the motivating force of WET Design, the Company
that has created a new reference for the modern water fountain by
changing the nature of water as a
vital component in the urban
landscape.
Mark, with a Master's Degree from Stanford and a background
in
design, physics and engineering, co-founded WET Design in 1983.
He has led the company
from its initial complement of seven
people to a firm of over one hundred, including
designers from
many disciplines, architects, engineers, scientists, special effects
experts, physicists and technicians. His creative vision is
responsible for a new form of
performance art, of which the Fountains of Bellagio is the pinnacle of the company's achievement.

CLAIRE
TUTTLE
DIRECTOR OF DESIGN
|
A pivotal member of WET Design since 1985,
Claire Tuttle led the transformation of WET from its
emphasis on technology to its focus
on design as the prime driving force of the company.
Having directed the design of over fifty water features in eighteen countries
and
spanning thirteen years, Claire is the Designer for the Fountains
of Bellagio.
Prior to joining WET, Claire worked for five years at Skidmore Owings & Merrill's San Francisco office as an interior and graphics
designer. In 1989,
Claire took a year's leave of absence from WET to work for Richard Meier and
Partners on the J. Paul Getty Museum. Since 1990, Claire has been working for WET out of
her
San Francisco studio. Outside her busy WET schedule, she engages in the design of
textiles, product design, and work in architectural color and pattern. Claire graduated
with honors and
distinction from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in
Design. She is a practitioner of fine art, a pianist, and a
passionate devotee of music.

KENNY
ORTEGA
PRODUCER, DIRECTOR,
CHOREOGRAPHER |
Highly acclaimed for his brilliant choreography,
Kenny Ortega first collaborated with WET Design in 1997 on a Project
incorporating live
performance in addition to water features. In 1998, Steve Wynn,
Chairman of Mirage Resorts, and WET Design invited Kenny Ortega
to choreograph the
Fountains of Bellagio to some of Steve's and
Kenny's favorite Broadway hits.
Kenny's career spans twenty-five years in show business. As a
choreographer, he has received numerous awards for his work in
productions such as the
film "Dirty Dancing," and the video of
Madonna's "Material Girl," as
well as for his contribution as a
creator of the Atlanta Olympics Opening and Closing
Ceremonies.
In films, Kenny choreographed memorable sequences for "The
Rose,"
starring Bette Midler, and he worked as co-choreographer
with his long-time idol,
Gene Kelly, on "Xanadu." As a Director for
films, Kenny worked on
"Newsies" for the Walt Disney Company
and "Hocus Pocus," starring
Bette Midler. For TV, Kenny directed
the CBS TV series based on "Dirty Dancing,"
"Hull High" for NBC,
the pilot and multiple episodes of "Fame LA" for
MGM/UA, and
"Chicago Hope."

GERARD
SCHURMANN
COMPOSER/CONDUCTOR |
Gerard
Schurmann, world-renowned composer and conductor for
concerts and films, was invited by WET Design to choreograph his
first fountain for the
Company in 1996. The Fountains of Bellagio is
the third and most ambitious WET Design
water feature that Gerard has choreographed to music.
Born of Dutch and British ancestry, Gerard settled in Los Angeles in
1981. As a successful young concert pianist and composer living in
London, he was appointed resident
orchestral conductor to the
Dutch Radio in Hilversum. At the end of his term there, Gerard
returned to England to concentrate on composition. He is the
recipient of many commissions
and awards, and his concert works
are performed by major orchestras and ensembles
throughout the world. Among forty-five feature films on which he worked are the
two Oscar
winning scores for "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Exodus."
Other film
credits include: "The Vikings, "The Lost Continent", "The
Ceremony", "The Bedford Incident," "Cross of Iron,"
"Claretta," and
most recently, "The Gambler."

TRAER
PRICE
DESIGNER |
Traer Price has been associated with WET Design since 1990, first as a
full-time project designer and later as a freelance concept
designer and choreographer.
Traer's early studies in music and
dance, and her extensive experience in choreographing
WET's
fountains to music, have culminated in her musical programs for
the Fountains of
Bellagio, WET's most ambitious water feature to
date.
Traer graduated from Stanford University with an MFA in visual
design, and
she holds a BA from Harvard University in economics.
In addition to her work with WET,
Traer freelances in both graphic
design and product design. Her cast aluminum housewares
can be
found at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, Neiman
Marcus, and boutiques
such as Utopia in Los Angeles and Loft in
San Francisco.

PETER
KOPIK
DESIGNER |
Peter Kopik joined WET Design in 1995 as a Project Designer. In
addition
to his own choreography for the Fountains of Bellagio, Peter
drew on his considerable
interpretive and creative skills to provide
technical assistance to Kenny Ortega in the choreographing of Kenny's programs for the Fountains of Bellagio.
Prior to joining WET, Peter worked for three years as a Project
Architect
for the Chicago office of Skidmore Owings & Merrill on
projects in Asia, Europe and
North America. He also worked for Marton Sass Associates in Chicago and at SZOVTERV
Architecture Design in Budapest, Hungary. Peter graduated with a Bachelor of
Architecture
degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and
has a Bachelor of Structure degree
from the Technical University of
Budapest.

DAVE
SCHREINER
MANAGER OF FIELD
SERVICES |
Dave
Schreiner heads WET's on-site operations and supervises all
field operations for WET's
projects worldwide, including dozens of projects throughout Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong,
Brunei,
Melbourne and Bangkok, where Dave was stationed for WET for a
year. Most recently,
he was in charge of the thirty plus WET field
technicians for the commissioning of the
Fountains of Bellagio.
Prior to joining WET Design in 1993, Dave owned and managed his
own full service landscape
design company for five years. Dave is
a member of the California Contractors Association,
as well as a
licensed landscape contractor.

JIM
DOYLE
DIRECTOR OF
TECHNICAL RESOURCES |
Jim Doyle is responsible for directing specialty technical applications at
WET. For the Fountains of Bellagio, Jim was in
charge of the special effects elements of
the fountain, including the
fog system, rising frame, and disappearing nozzles.
In
1992, Jim received an Academy Award in Technical
Achievement for the development of Liquid
Nitrogen Fog Systems.
As a veteran special effects technician, Jim has worked on more
than
three dozen feature films, and he has supervised special
effects for more than one hundred
music videos and television
commercials. He is one of the country's leading experts on the
entertainment industry's use of pyrotechnic and explosive devices.
He has also worked on
productions for Cirque du Soleil; Tama
Center of Tokyo, Japan; Universal Studios
California and Florida, as
well as for Rio Hotel, Desert Inn, Mirage Hotel and Treasure
Island
in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatrical Production
and a degree in Physics from the University of
Colorado in Boulder.

TONY
FREITAS
PROJECT ENGINEERING
MANAGER |
Tony Freitas joined WET Design in 1996. He serves as the lead
engineer for
many of WET's projects, and is responsible for the
overall engineering design of water
features. His most recent
contribution is his work as Project Engineer for the
large-scale,
complex mechanical systems for the Fountains of Bellagio.
Tony
is a licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
with more than eleven years
of experience in engineering
management and the development of complex engineering
projects.
Tony graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern
California with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering.

JOHN
PERRY
CHIEF ELECTRICAL
ENGINEER |
John
Perry is responsible for electrical specifications and planning
of electrical control
systems for all WET projects. Most recently, he
was in charge of the complex, large-scale
electrical and control
systems for the Fountains of Bellagio.
Prior
to joining WET Design in 1995, John was a Project Engineer
for Soffa Electric, Inc. where
he designed custom control systems
for process industries. He also worked as Development
Engineer for High Pressure Technology, Inc., developing ultra-high pressure
presses and
processes for the manufacture of industrial diamonds.
John holds a Bachelor of Science
degree from Rutgers University.

BRUCE
ALLPORT
ARCHITECT
|
Bruce
Allport serves as lead architect and is responsible for the
often unseen
configurations that support WET's water features. A
recent contribution is
his work as Project Architect for the complex
underwater structures which
give form and support to the Fountains of Bellagio.
Prior
to joining WET Design in February 1996, Bruce served as CEO and Principal
Architect for Allport Associates Incorporated, and
assisted the U.S. Small
Business Administration in the recovery from the 1994 Northridge,
California earthquake. Bruce is a licensed
Architect with more than twenty
years in architecture and
construction, and holds Bachelor of
Environmental Design and
Masters of Architecture degrees form Cal Poly Pomona
